Natural Home Remedies For Sleeping Problems

Put Garlic Under Your Pillow And See What Happens

Everyone is familiar with the pungent flavor of garlic.

It adds zest to innumerable savory dishes.

It’s also quite healthy, with complex carbohydrates and proteins, plus vital minerals and vitamins like vitamin B, sodium, potassium, and magnesium.

Eating garlic on a regular basis can help to ward off heart disease and other cardiovascular diseases as well as metabolic disorders like diabetes.

The instantly recognizable smell of garlic comes from the allicin, a sulfur compound.

It makes garlic excellent for treating infections because it can kill some types of virus more efficiently than antibiotics, and without the nasty side effects.

Garlic also contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds that support optimal function of all of the body’s systems.

But we’re not done yet! Garlic improves blood flow, lowers cholesterol, and even helps prevent premature aging by reducing oxidative damage.

With all the benefits of eating garlic, why on earth would you put it under your pillow? As it turns out, there are several reasons.

Read on to find out what happens when you stash a clove or two under your pillow at night.

1. You Will Breathe Better

One of the ways that garlic helps you overnight is that is can clear blocked nasal passages.

The allicin, when breathed, thins mucus so that it drains.

Your breathing will improve, which in turn makes it a lot easier to fall and stay asleep.

If simply placing a clove or two of garlic under your pillow isn’t enough, you can make a garlic steam to breathe before bed.

Simply place 3-5 crushed cloves into a pot of boiling water, turn off the heat, and then inhale the steam. Be careful not to get so close to the pot that you burn your face.

2. You Will Get Sick Less Often

Garlic is also a potent antibacterial and can knock out common germs before they make you sick.

They can also help shorten the duration of a cold or flu.

Researchers think this is because allicin is able to block two groups of enzymes that allow infectious microbes to survive in a host body.

Sleeping with garlic under your pillow regularly can help ward off passing germs, but you might want to add more to your diet if you actually catch that cold.

3. You’ll Get A Better Night’s Sleep

Sleeping with garlic under your pillow is a holistic remedy for insomnia that has been used for ages.

It’s counterintuitive to think that a smell as powerful as garlic could be calming, but it works.

Smelling the allicin in garlic can help you fall asleep and stay asleep so that your rest is truly restorative.

Beyond sleeping with garlic under your pillow, eating more of it can increase your intake of magnesium and potassium.

These two minerals play a vital role in sleep by working synergistically to relax your muscles and produce a chemical called GABA.

GABA is the body’s signal that it’s time to calm down, and it chills out your brain cells so that they can begin the restorative work that happens overnight.

4. You’ll Naturally Repel Bugs

If you’ve ever worried about a spider crawling into your mouth while you sleep, or woken up with a bunch of mosquito bites, you’ll appreciate having some extra protection under your pillow.

Garlic is toxic to bugs and they know it, so having some under your pillow naturally discourages them from joining you in bed.

In fact, some people use a garlic and water spray to repel bugs in the garden.

But for the purpose of repelling insects, eating garlic doesn’t seem to be as effective.

Mosquitos especially are attracted to the carbon dioxide we exhale, and of course that occurs no matter what we’ve eaten.

A COUPLE WORDS OF CAUTION

One thing to remember if you have dogs or cats is that garlic is toxic to them.

If your pets get on your bed and are prone to swiping food, it’s best not to leave garlic under your pillow when you’re not there.

A small amount of garlic in a meal will probably not sicken a pet, but an entire clove certainly will.

In any case, it’s better for the effectiveness of garlic as a sleep aid to use a fresh clove each night.

We also recommend wrapping your clove in a washcloth, or alternately, keeping the skin on while you sleep.

Garlic contains oil that can stain your sheets if it gets crushed.

Garlic is a fantastic boon to health, whether you sleep with it, eat it, or breathe it.

There’s no reason not to do all three! But hundreds of years of use as a sleep aid certainly speaks to its unique ability to settle both body and brain and improve the quality of your slumber.

You should definitely try garlic under your pillow before resorting to dangerous chemical sleep aids, which have been shown to trap you into dependence on them.

And even though you get “knocked out,” the quality of your sleep is not good under the influence of these drugs.

Garlic is cheap, easy, and it works with zero side effects. Sweet dreams!

How To Reduce Cholesterol Fast | How To Unclog Your Arteries Without Medication

How To Reduce Cholesterol Fast | How To Unclog Your Arteries Without Medication

Arteries carry blood and oxygen to different parts of the body from your head all the way down to your toes.
You need to have healthy arteries to carry that blood and oxygen throughout the body. However, many people develop clogged arteries.
In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, every 40 seconds, someone in the United States has a heart attack, which could be due to clogged arteries.

Clogged arteries happen when plaque builds up on the inner walls of the arteries and block blood flow, reducing the amount of blood and oxygen that moves throughout the body. Due to this, parts of your body can’t function well and your organs are also damaged as a result.
Good cholesterol (HDL) helps control the levels of the bad cholesterol (LDL), and it is important to be able to keep these levels balanced. In fact, high levels of bad cholesterol has been known as the silent killer because it often goes undetected until it’s too late.

A study that examined the data on 36,375 adults with no history of heart disease or diabetes and a low risk for events like heart attacks or strokes was conducted over a 27 period of time. Most of the adults in the study were found to have  levels of LDL, however the levels were not high enough to be prescribed cholesterol-lowering medication. After 27 years, 1,086 people in the study died of cardiovascular disease and 598 died from coronary heart disease. This lead researchers to conclude that the levels of LDL, although low, had a lasting impact on the heart health of these individuals.

All studies aside, all is NOT lost, even if you have history of clogged arteries. There are simple, natural and healthy remedies that can help, including these three ingredients: garlic, turmeric and oatmeal.

Why they work and how to use each:

Garlic

Garlic has been found to help lower LDS levels by preventing cholesterol from sticking to the artery walls. This prevents the arteries from clogging, prevents blood clots and in turn reduces blood pressure.

Simply take 2-4 cloves of raw garlic a day. And chile consuming them fresh daily will yield the best results, if raw garlic is too hard to eat, you can include 5-7 cloves in your daily meals. Perhaps add it to sauce, a salad or rub it on whole wheat toast. Garlic can also be found in tablet and capsule form as well as in an extract or powder.

Turmeric:

Tumeric is a spice that can help treat clogged arteries, lower bad cholesterol and make your heart work better. The curcumin contained in turmeric has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that prevent blood platelets from  forming clots. It can also relax blood vessels and reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke.

One way to take turmeric is by taking 1 teaspoon of the powder and add a little honey inside some warm milk. Drink it 1-2 times daily. Turmeric powder can also be included in your cooking, perhaps in a sauce or soup. You can also take turmeric supplements (400-600 mg 3 x daily). However, it is best to consult a doctor before beginning any supplement regimen.

Oatmeal:

Oatmeal is a great heart-healthy meal due to its high soluble fiber content. It has been recommended by The American Heart Association that the total dietary fiber intake for adults should be 25 to 30 grams a day from food, not supplements. This is why oatmeal is a fantastic option.

In fact, a bowl of oatmeal made from 3/4 cup of dry oats contains 3 g of soluble fiber which is easier to digest than insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber binds to the cholesterol in the body, helping you to digest it rather than having it get absorbed into the bloodstream. This helps lower the LDL levels in your blood.

To get the best benefits from oatmeal, eat 1-2 bowls of cooked oats each day. You can also add fresh fruits, nuts and even honey to enhance the flavor in a more healthful way.

Other tips for reducing the risk for clogged arteries and high cholesterol levels:

  1. Avoid smoking
  2. Avoid drinking alcohol
  3. Maintain a healthy weight
  4. Stay away from bad stress/anxiety
  5. Do yoga and meditation regularly
  6. Laugh a lot or participate in laughter therapy
  7. Get regular blood tests done

What Happens if You Eat Fish Every Day

What happens if you eat fish every day

What Happens if You Eat Fish Every Day

Doctors currently recommend eating fish about 2-3 per week to get the health benefits without risking mercury poisoning. And we suppose it’s wise to avoid that. But aside from that one little risk, fish is really good for you. Eating some every day can give you a major head start on your RDA for lots of vital nutrients plus protein and healthy fats. On the other hand, mercury poisoning causes debilitating neurodegenerative disorders. Can it ever be okay to eat fish every day? Read on to find out.

What is mercury poisoning?

The biggest concern with eating a lot of fish is mercury poisoning. Mercury is a naturally occurring substance and is not problematic in small amounts. However, too much can lead to troubling symptoms that affect children (born and unborn) most significantly. Acute mercury poisoning can lead to permanent neurological deficits, including developmental delays in children.

There is no cure, but further progression can usually be halted by removing the source of the mercury. Really bad levels of exposure might require chelation therapy to remove the mercury from your system. Unfortunately, neurological disorders in children from mercury are typically permanent. Adults are likely to find their symptoms temporary.

Highest and lowest risk fish

In general, larger, predatory fish have higher levels of mercury because they feed many on smaller fish who each have a lower level. They also live longer, during which time the mercury continues to accumulate. This is the same way that humans can end up with too much mercury if they eat a lot of fish.

But, stresses Eric Rimm, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health, “For most individuals it’s fine to eat fish every day.” With the exception of pregnant women and children, you can safely eat fish every day without worry of mercury poisoning as long as you limit the amount of high mercury fish to two servings per week.

Low mercury fish: salmon, shrimp, catfish, tilapia, scallops, oysters, herring, sardines, and trout

High mercury fish: swordfish, king mackerel, shark, tilefish, orange roughy, marlin, ahi and bigeye tuna

Benefits of daily fish consumption

Eating fish affords many positive health benefits, including improved metabolism, sleep quality, skin quality, and concentration as well as lower inflammation. But that’s not all. Read on for six great reasons to eat more fish.

1. Get good fat

When it comes to red meat, it is always best to choose the leanest cuts possible. But with fish, it is actually the fattiest kinds that are most healthful. That’s because the fat in fish is in the form of omega-3 fatty acids, or “good” fats. Omega-3s contribute to the optimal function of the brain for starters, but also play a critical role in cardiovascular health.

Regular consumption of omega-3 fatty acids can help lower the risk of heart disease or stroke, and slows the growth of plaque in the arteries. It also lowers triglycerides (i.e., “bad” fat) and reduces blood pressure.

2. Maintain a healthy heart

Swapping fish for other forms of protein like red meat, chicken, pork, and lamb can be a smart choice for heart health. The omega-3s largely deserve the thanks, but recent studies indicate that it may be the combination of omega-3 fatty acids and other nutrients in fish that cause the lower incidence of heart attack or death from heart disease among people who eat a lot of fish.

Get plenty of vitamins such as D and B2 (riboflavin) plus calcium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, iodine, magnesium, and potassium in every serving.

3. Get enough vitamin D

Fish is a natural source of vitamin D, which is otherwise only synthesized from sun exposure. But many people are nevertheless deficient in D because we spend so much time inside. Because vitamin D plays a crucial role in allowing the body to absorb a lot of other nutrients, without it we may experience deficiencies despite adequate intake.

Think of your daily serving of fish as a booster for everything else you eat throughout the day.

4. Fight Depression

Scientists are still trying to determine why, but it’s clear that people who eat the most fish have lower than average incidence of depression. It may be that an overall healthy diet is associated with better mood, but we also know that omega-3 fatty acids can affect the level of feel-good chemicals dopamine and serotonin in the brain.

Finally, as fish is naturally able to reduce inflammation, eating a lot of it improves blood flow. That can also help improve brain function and smooth out mood swings.

5. Reduce risk of autoimmune disorders

An autoimmune disorder is when the body’s immune system gets confused and attacks and destroys healthy body tissue. One of the most common examples is type 1 diabetes, in which an immune system attacks insulin-producing cells in the pancreas.

There have been multiple studies that indicate lower incidence of type 1 diabetes in people who consume omega-3s or fish oil regularly. Early information seems to point to lower risk for other autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis as well.

6. Stay mentally sharp

As we age, mental function often declines. Response times to stimuli become longer and short term memory is compromised. This is called age-related cognitive decline, and in severe cases, it can progress into Alzheimer’s. For some reason we don’t fully understand yet, people who eat a lot of fish have slower rates of cognitive decline. It may be related to the amount of grey matter found in our brains.

Grey matter is the major functional tissue that contains neurons to process information and store memories. The more the better, and people who eat fish regularly seem to have more grey matter in the areas of the brain that regulate memory and emotion.

If you like fish, there’s really no reason not to eat it every day. Well, there are two reasons – pregnancy or childhood. And one further concern is environmental. If every non-pregnant adult ate fish every day, we would quickly cause the extinction of the world’s edible fish population. However, fish has a distinctive taste that not everyone likes, so as long as fish lovers stick to sustainably harvested products, extinction should not be a concern.

If you are one of those people who don’t care for food with fins, you can still reap some of the benefits of fish by taking a fish oil supplement. The oil in these supplements is typically processed to remove mercury. Food sources of anything are always better absorbed than extracts or supplements, but it is still better than nothing. Eating fish clearly offers many health benefits.

7 Reason Why You Should Start Eating Organic Food As Soon As Possible

7 Reason Why You Should Start Eating Organic Food As Soon As Possible

They say good eating habits in increasing globally which can be easily identified by the popularization of organic products.

But what does it mean to be organic?

Organic foods are the ones that are naturally grown, without having to use genetic modifiers, man made pesticides, and man-made fertilizer.

Everything relating to organic produce is natural. For those who haven’t as yet changed to diets of organic foods, here I will discuss seven reasons why you should change as quickly as possible.

7 Best Reasons To Switch To A Completely Organic Diet

1. Beneficial To Our Environment
Due to the fact that organic food doesn’t utilize artificial fertilizers or even pesticides they’re more beneficial for the environment.

The dirt used in organic cultivation may be used for for a longer time without requiring too negative an impression upon it. Likewise, organic farming techniques reduce soil erosion and also decrease polluting of the environment in the.

2. Much healthier Foods

Organically grown food contains better nutritional value inside to nourish the human body.

Resulting from the growing strategies the fruits, vegetables, as well as other produce which is grown using organic techniques are more beneficial for the body compared to commercially grown foods.

3. Tastier

Its much easier to identify the distinction between organic and non-organic foods from the way they taste. Undoubtedly organic foods will likely be tastier as compared to their commercially farmed alternatives. In case you don’t believe that us give it a shot.

4. Eliminate Diseases In Babies

Young kids must stay away from eating mass-produced food items. In fact, if possible, pregnant women should only have a diet for organically produced food . The pesticides that linger onto the foods even after you wash them can cause learning disabilities, lower IQs, growth problems in fetuses.

5. Better For Local Wildlife And Animals

Even organically produced cattle have much better life when compared with their commercial counterparts. They have natural grass feeds, much more space to live, as they are better cared for. Also the wildlife benefits because of organic methods of farming.

6. Beneficial to The Local Economy

Buying organic foods means helping the small farmers rather than the big players. Organic farms are normally small in size, tended to by a single farmer who looks after all his produce.

They’re definitely indigenous members of the society , so when you buy organic you help your local economy.

7. Avoid Genetically Altered Organisms

Among the top reasons cited by most people around the world for switching to organic foods is because they want to avoid having anything that has been genetically engineered or contains genetically modified organisms.

Buying organic foods is the only way to ensure you don’t have any GMO foods in your diet as GMO foods do not need to be labeled. However, organic foods cannot contain GMOs, so you can be sure you’re living a GMO-free life when you buy organic.

While there might be a marginal difference in costs between organic and mass-produced foods the benefits you receive alone should more than make-up for it.

If you can afford to pay for organic foods there should be no doubt in your mind as to what you need to pick the next time you’re out shopping for groceries. If not for the environment then think about your health and the health of your family the next time you’re out buying your food supplies.

7 Drinks To Prevent Arthritis

Arthritis is an extremely painful condition for which there is no cure.

You can manage the disease, minimize your flare-ups, but it never goes away. Therefore, you want to do everything you can to prevent it in the first place.

A lot has to do with genetics, but certain lifestyle factors play a big part as well.

Repetitive stress from work is one cause.

But diet is another big one – and it’s the easiest one to control.

Going a bit deeper, it’s not just what you eat but also what you drink that can affect arthritis.

Many of us don’t think a lot about our beverages, but we should.

One soda, for example, has as much added sugar as we should have in an entire day from any source.

And that morning coffee could be a smart, antioxidant-rich way to start the day, or a cream-and-sugar laden gut bomb, depending on how it is prepared.

Following are 7 drinks that have been shown to reduce the occurrence and/or symptoms of arthritis.

It’s all about preventing inflammation.

#1. Red Wine

This is great news, but take it with a grain of salt.

Red wine contains a compound called resveratrol that is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Regular consumption of red wine has been linked with a lower risk of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

However, you must drink it in moderation.

Too much wine, or alcohol of any kind, does just the opposite of what you want.

It inflames tissues and causes dehydration, leaving joints achy and swollen.

To reap the benefits of red wine, stick to one glass per day for women and two for men.

#2. Tart Cherry Juice

Many juices are high in vitamin C, which can provide strong antioxidant benefits.

Antioxidants are able to neutralize the free radicals that cause bodily inflammation.

However, fruit juice is really high in sugar and calories, with none of the fiber found in whole fruit.

In general, it’s best to just eat the fruit rather than drink juice.

An exception to this rule is tart cherry juice, which has been specifically found to reduce osteoarthritis symptoms and prevent flare-ups of gout.

A juice you might want to avoid if you already have arthritis is grapefruit juice, as it alters the effect of many different medications.

#3. Milk

Some people with arthritis do better to stay away from dairy products, but this is mainly true if they have a general sensitivity to the proteins in milk.

For these folks, consuming dairy causes bloating, gas, and the worst enemy of arthritis sufferers – inflammation.

However, if milk doesn’t bother you, there is some evidence that suggests drinking milk can help to prevent gout and hold back the progression of osteoarthritis.

#4. Smoothies

Smoothies are way healthier than plain juice because they retain the fiber of the whole fruit.

They are also a great way to get your veggies, especially ones that you don’t like so much on their own.

Adding some spinach or kale in with a berry and banana blend may make the color less appetizing, but you won’t even taste it!

Add some yogurt to get your probiotics, which are good bacteria that maintain the health of your gut and decrease inflammation.

The combination of fruit, vegetable, and yogurt makes a tasty drink that has vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, and probiotics.

This combo delivers a powerhouse of protective ingredients to stave off arthritis.

#5. Tea

There have been tons of studies on the health value of tea, and the good news is that it is all good for you.

Whether green, black, or white, tea contains a hearty helping of polyphenols, which are strong anti-inflammatory compounds.

Green and white teas have the most.J

Research shows that green tea is the gold standard for people concerned about arthritis.

Its polyphenol type is one called epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG), and it has been shown to be 100 times stronger in antioxidant ability than both vitamins C and E.

EGCG may also help to preserve the integrity of cartilage and bone, so that your joints stay strong.

#6. Coffee

There is conflicting information about the benefits of coffee for arthritis prevention.

On one hand, coffee has those powerful polyphenols to fight inflammation caused by free radical damage.

There is also some research that says coffee may protect against the development of gout.

But when it comes to osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis, some studies suggest that coffee may increase the risk, while others find no greater odds.

If you’re already a coffee-drinker, you don’t have to stop.

Just make sure to consume it in moderation as the risk seems to kick in at 4 cups per day.

If you don’t enjoy coffee, there is no reason to pick up the habit.

Drink tea or a smoothie to start your day instead.

#7. Water

It’s not fancy, but good old plain water is one of the best things to drink to prevent arthritis, plus a whole host of other ills.

Proper hydration allows the body to flush out toxins that might otherwise spark inflammation.

It also keeps the joints lubricated and comfortable.

Some studies suggest that drinking more water can prevent gout attacks.

As long as you are eating a generally healthy diet, there is no need to buy fancy vitamin waters.

The amount of added nutrition you get is tiny.

Just filter your tap water in a pitcher or through a faucet filter and aim for about 2 liters per day.

These 7 drinks are great for preventing arthritis, but they can also support the healthy function of all your body’s systems.

Job one is to stay hydrated with nice pure water, but these other beverages can deliver the nutrition and antioxidants you need to round out your diet. They’ll keep you from getting beverage boredom, too!

7 Best Herbs For Natural Kidney Cleansing

7 Best Herbs For Natural Kidney Cleansing

Your kidneys do a lot of important jobs, and if you don’t keep them healthy, it puts you at risk of dangerous conditions like renal failure or kidney cancer.

The primary and best-known function of kidneys is to filter blood and excrete liquid waste. But they do a lot more than that.

Kidneys help control your blood pressure because they require an optimal pressure level to do their work.

That means that kidneys are able to either raise or lower blood pressure as needed via a hormone called renin that constricts blood vessels.

Kidneys have cleansing as their prime directive, and don’t therefore need an external detox aid.

That said, there are some ways to relieve strain on your kidneys so they can do their best work.

Eating lots of healthy food and staying well hydrated is most important. After that, there are certain herbs that kidneys love.

Wait until you see #5 – it’s shockingly easy to get but you probably never thought of eating it before!

#1.Garlic

Garlic has a protective effect on your kidneys and other organs.

Regular consumption has been found to lower the concentration of lead and cadmium in kidneys, heart, liver, spleen, and blood stream.

Garlic also has diuretic properties that help you eliminate excess sodium from your body.

And not only that, but allicin, the active ingredient in garlic, has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties.

That means it can greatly assist your kidneys in cleansing and filtering blood of harmful invaders.

#2.Turmeric

Fans of Asian cuisine are quite familiar with turmeric, which is the herb that gives curry its distinctive flavor and color.

The active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin, which is known to reduce the effect of inflammatory molecules and enzymes that trigger chronic kidney disease.

Curcumin actually holds back the growth and spread of all kinds of microbes, easing the strain on your kidneys.

One of word of caution applies to people who already have kidney disease.

Turmeric contains a fair amount of potassium, which normally works in partnership with sodium to regulate the body’s fluid levels.

Kidney disease makes it difficult for kidneys to keep potassium in balance, so sufferers are often asked to limit their intake of it.

#3.Ginger

Long used in holistic medicine, ginger contains a compound called gingerol that is known to inhibit the spread of bacteria.

This can be helpful to overworked kidneys and liver.

Gingerol is also an effective means of support for healthy digestion and it reduces inflammation and pain all over the body.

Chronic high blood sugar has a damaging effect on the kidneys, and some studies suggest that powdered ginger can help control it.

For this reason, regular ginger consumption is thought to reduce the incidence of kidney complication in people with diabetes.

In healthy people, ginger may prevent the development of diabetes at all.

#4.Cranberry

Cranberries are an awesome fruit to add to most any diet, even a low-potassium kidney diet.

They are recommended for people with bladder infections because cranberries contain a type of phytonutrient called A-type proanthocyanidin, which stops bacteria from sticking to the lining of your urinary tract and kidneys.

People with kidney disease have a higher incidence of urinary tract infections, and cranberries are a useful addition to their daily diet because they are also low in sodium, phosphorus, and of course, potassium.

Eating cranberries regularly, whether or not you have kidney disease, can prevent urinary and bladder infections all together. Enjoy them whole, dried, or juiced.

#5.Dandelion Root

Dandelions might drive you crazy when they take over your lawn, but these “weeds” actually have a lot of benefits.

Dandelion root is a diuretic that can help cleanse both your kidneys and your liver.

It has been used to treat jaundice, acne, and anemia as well as kidney and liver disorders.

Dandelion root is also great for preventing irritation in the urinary tract.

To consume dandelion root, most people make a tea with the crushed roots. Simmer them gently in water for 15 minutes or so, then strain and drink.

You can also eat dandelion leaves raw or cooked. Since dandelions grow virtually everywhere at a very fast rate, during the summer months you can get them completely free, right in your own backyard.

#6.Parsley

Don’t forget the garnish! It may seem pointless to finish a meal with a sprinkling of parsley, but that little bit of this herb actually helps to reduce the build-up of toxins in your kidneys.

Parsley contains compounds called apiol and myristicin, which are natural diuretics.

You can also take parsley to help with urinary tract infections and kidney stones.

However, parsley is not recommended for people with diabetes because it may lower blood sugar.

In conjunction with doctor-prescribed medication, parsley could lower it too much.

Parsley may also make existing kidney disease worse. It’s best to talk to your doctor if you are considering starting a regular parsley regimen.

#7.Celery Root

Celery root has both potassium and sodium, so it gives kidneys what they need to do their work.

It also contains a lot of water and increases urine output, allowing your body to flush out residual toxins.

Eating celery root is thought to prevent bacterial infections of both kidneys and urinary tract.

Some studies indicate that celery can shrink cysts on reproductive organs, too.

Celery has a relatively low level of potassium with even a large stalk containing only 4% of basic RDI.

However, speak to your doctor about adding celery to your daily diet if you have existing kidney disease.

These 7 herbs can do great things for your kidneys if you incorporate them into your daily diet before you develop kidney disease or diabetes.

This is one of the easiest and the best preventative measures to maintain the health of these vital organs.

These herbs work so well that once a person does develop kidney disease,

they’ll need to avoid them because they boost the performance of medications in a significant and often unpredictable way.

(How much you eat and varying levels of certain minerals in the plants makes the use of herbs less measurable than precise medication dosing.)

7 Drinks To Clean Your Liver Naturally

7 Secrets For a Perfect Health

Never has information on keeping fit and staying healthy been as widely available as it is today.

The ironic part, though, is that the modern human being is more unfit and more unhealthy than at any time in history.

With all this information available, it can be quite a daunting task knowing which rules to follow and which to ignore. Here are 7 rules to follow for perfect health.

#1. Quit It!

The first rule to living a healthy life is to quit all the bad habits that you may have acquired in the course of growing up.

These bad habits include smoking, over-consumption of alcohol, eating unhealthy foods and other such unhealthy indulgences. This might sound easy on paper but it is not.

Since your body is already used to these substances, you will experience cravings and some side effects like migraines before you can be able to fully quit them.

The key is to quit slowly.

Start by regularly reducing your consumption of these substances until you totally quit.

#2. Stay Away from the Sun

Summer time and tanning are two things that go hand in hand. Many people love nothing more than a good sunbath on a hot summer afternoon. That’s quite dangerous though, especially for people with light skins.

Light-skinned people have low amounts of melanin in their bodies. Direct exposure to sunlight for long periods not only kills the skin’s cells but also increases the chances of that person getting skin cancer.

Remember, skin damage is irreversible. If you really want to get a tan, roll out of the sunbed and get a splash tan.

#3. Eat Right

Nothing on this list is as important as your diet. Just like a car needs clean fuel and dirty fuel causes long term complications, food is the fuel to your engine.

Make sure that you eat right. Ban fast food from your daily ration and try more natural foods especially organic.

The combination of fast foods and soda is the single biggest contributor of obesity in the world. Avoid it. Eat vegetables and fruits on a regular basis.

#4. Stay Active

Modern-day work environment is one of the main reasons why more and more people are leading unhealthy lives today. Many people’s daily routines include getting into the car, driving to work, sitting on a chair staring at a computer screen the whole day, getting back into the car at the end of the day, driving back home and sitting on the sofa before hitting the sack.

This is a very unhealthy lifestyle. Add more physical activity into your day.

Join a gym, walk for short distances instead of driving, walk around the office instead of sitting in your office/ cubicle the whole day, get a bicycle to ride when you can or go swimming regularly to shed off the excess fat and keep that heartbeat up.

#5. Know Your Genes

Your family bloodline is one of the greatest contributors to the state of who you are as a person. You need to find out if there are any medical conditions that run through your family and get checked to see if you have any of them.
